Seven Kings School is an all through school which welcomes children aged 4 to 16 from the local catchment regardless of their ability and at 16 from across east London into our ambitious sixth form. Seven Kings School has a long and successful history as a high performing, outstanding school with world-class status. We are a Learning Partnership and lead a thriving alliance of 23 schools providing exciting opportunities for staff and students alike, this relentless pursuit of excellence for all is at the heart of our continuing success.
There are approximately 2230 students on roll; 840 in our primary campus, 900 in years 7-11 and approximately 490 in our successful sixth form. The school is always oversubscribed and enjoys strong support from parents and governors. The learning environment and general facilities at the school are excellent.
Examination results are consistently high at every Key Stage and were once again excellent in 2023. In our last OFSTED inspection (September 2018) we were judged to be outstanding across all categories. In particular, inspectors identified that the school has created ‘an exceptional environment in which all pupils thrive’.
We strive for excellence and believe we make a difference to our students’ life chances. We want our students to be curious about the community and the world around them, to develop a love of learning and become active, socially responsible citizens. We are proud of our inclusive approach which provides a challenging and personalised education for every child.
We provide a broad and balanced curriculum through the school that focuses on teaching students the skills to be effective, lifelong learners.
In Key Stage 3, students follow the National Curriculum (Art, Computing, CPHSE, Design Technology, Drama, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, PE, RE, Science). All students study either French, Spanish or Mandarin.
In Key Stage 4 students follow a core curriculum and can choose from a broad range of options. Students are generally taught in mixed ability classes; there is setting or banding in some subjects. Students are assessed regularly and receive formative feedback, enabling them to set improvement targets.
We create a purposeful, harmonious atmosphere where students feel safe to develop into happy, confident citizens. Our pastoral staff maintain close links with parents, who are encouraged to contact the school with any concerns.
Home learning is set according to a structured timetable. There are support clubs to help students and we provide intervention programmes for students who need extra help. Our learning support department is skilled at identifying students’ needs and providing the support to help them access the curriculum.
We are equipped to admit students with significant physical disabilities affecting their mobility. These students have an EHCP.
Most of our students continue their education in the Sixth Form and nearly all go on to university. Our courses are Level 3 (A Levels). Students receive strong support from an experienced leadership team. They have the opportunity to get involved in community work and enrichment projects, and there are many social and cultural activities available.
As an all-through school, when choosing Seven Kings as a primary school you are choosing and committing to Seven Kings as a secondary school , unless you apply through admissions for another secondary school when your child reaches Year 6. Please ensure you read any policies you are interested in when making your choice which are on our website.
Our primary campus admits 120 children each year in four forms of entry and our secondary campus admits 180 children in six forms of entry.
From September 2022 pupils in the primary phase will automatically be given a Year 7 place in the secondary phase when they are in Year 6. If they wish to progress into Year 7 they do not need to apply for a place. This means that the number of Secondary Transfer places available to catchment applicants who are not attending the primary phase will be reduced to 60. Please be aware of this when you make your application and ensure you name more than just your catchment school even if this is Seven Kings School.
All matters relating to the allocation of places at the school are administered by Redbridge Admissions Department.
Redbridge operates a catchment area policy and children living within our area have priority for admission. Full details of the process for secondary transfer are obtainable from the Redbridge website
