Dress Code

The aim of the Sixth Form dress code is to ensure students are dressed smartly, professionally and in a formal/business style.  As role models for younger students and ambassadors for our school it is important that Sixth Form students reflect the professionalism, high aspirations and desire for excellence that characterises the work of the school.

Sixth Form ties cost £5 each and can only be purchased from the school.

Sixth Form Dress Code – Male

Please only buy BLACK AND WHITE as other dark colours are not allowed.

Non Negotiable: ID badges must be worn around the neck with the lanyard and ID badge visible at all times

Male:

White plain formal collared shirt

Black formal trousers

Black formal jacket/blazer/suit

Black formal shoes

SKS tie 

Please read the guide below for further information:

  • Formal/business style plain white collared shirt with either short or long sleeves. 
  • Formal/business style black long trousers only.  Trousers must cover the ankles. Tight/skinny trousers/shorts/jeans of any type should not be worn. 
  • Formal/business style black jacket/blazer/suit only.
  • Black leather-style formal shoes only. 
  • Optional: Black V-neck plain formal jumper/cardigan can be worn but must show the shirt and tie.  This should be worn as well as the jacket, not instead of it.

REMINDERS:

  • SKS tie and Blazers must be worn at all times.
  • Coats, hats and neck scarves should be placed in lockers at the start of the day. Coats should be dark in colour and smart / formal (no denim, sportswear, hoodies, puffa jackets/coats).
  • Extreme hairstyles are not allowed. Patterns or logos must not be shaved or cut into hair or eyebrows.
  • Hair must not be dyed unnatural colours.
  • Discreet jewellery may be worn.  A small ear stud may be worn, but no other facial piercing is allowed.  Tattoos must not be visible.
  • Religious headwear must be black.
  • Students are not allowed to chew gum.

Any concerns will be raised with individuals. We reserve the right to ask students to modify/change their dress if they do not meet the requirements listed above and spirit of the Sixth Form dress code.

Sixth Form Dress Code – Female

Black formal skirt or plain black dress (knee and ankle length only)

Black formal jacket/blazer/suit

Black (flat or low heeled) formal shoes  

Please read the guide below for further information:

  • Formal/business style plain white collared shirt or blouse with either short or long sleeves are to be worn. 
  • Full length black trousers must be formal/business style only.  Trousers must cover the ankles. Tight/skinny trousers/shorts/jeans of any type must not be worn.
  • Formal/business style black jacket/blazer/suit to be worn at all times which should be waist length. 
  • Black formal/business style skirts to be worn with a plain white collared shirt/blouse. Black skirts and dresses must be formal/business style and between knee and ankle length only.
  • Floor length skirts and dresses must not be worn in order to prevent a health and safety risk.
  • Black or flesh coloured tights only.  
  • Religious headwear must be plain black or white with no designs, logos or sequins and the students’ face must not be obscured.
  • Shoes must be leather-style formal black, flat or low heeled.  Sensible, practical, flat or low heeled formal boots can be worn but must be covered under the trousers.
  • Optional: Black V-neck plain jumper or a plain black formal cardigan with sleeves. This should be worn as well as the jacket, not instead of it. 
  • No crew neck or roll neck jumpers, sleeveless/duster jackets, hoodies, sweat shirts or gilets are not to be worn.
