Get into Teaching

The Seven Kings Learning Partnership

Do you want to get into teaching?

  • Are you passionate about making a lasting difference in young people’s lives?
  • Do you want to be part of some of the most inspired conversations you will ever hear?
  • Do you really enjoy working with young people?
  • Would you like to work in an environment which is constantly changing?
  • Do you love explaining why something is true?
  • Do you want others to feel the same excitement you do in your subject area?
  • Are able to make lasting relationships with others?
  • Do you like overcoming challenges?
  • Do you want a rewarding and varied career?

Then teaching is the job for you!

In the Seven Kings Learning Partnership we are proud of the work we do with our teachers, whether it be those just thinking about joining the profession or those wanting to move onto headships. Our “Cradle to Grave” Professional Learning Programme supports teachers and leaders at all stages of their careers.

We are a “World Class School” and have lots of exciting opportunities for those thinking about coming into teaching to enable them to start their career, through programmes such as School Direct Initial Teacher Training programmes and Apprenticeships in Teaching Programmes where we work with Leading Initial Teacher Provides such as University College London and The University of East London.

We welcome a range of different trainees across a range of different phases and subjects, including Primary, Sciences, Maths, English, Social Sciences, Humanities Subjects, Art, Design Technology, Music and Drama across the schools in our Partnership.

We offer bespoke training packages for all our trainees which includes joint sessions across the schools in our Partnership, exploring pedagogical practice; one to one mentoring from trained mentors and the opportunity to visit a wide range of different schools to hone your craft in your specific subject area or specialism.

Our Partnership of Primary, Secondary and Special Schools are across different Local Authorities including Redbridge, Newham, Waltham Forest and Havering; ensuring that your experience is diverse, challenging and inspiring

We have long established relationships with many of the main Initial Teaching Providers across London and a richly-deserved reputation for giving trainees an excellent start in their careers and growing great teachers.

We see this as a way not just to train and recruit our next generation of teachers for our Partnership Schools but also for all the schools across East London and beyond.

We offer visits to our schools and opportunities to find out what Teaching is all about.

Feedback from visitors and trainees to our schools:

“I was provided with a specifically catered timetable relevant to the subject I wanted to teach, which helped a great deal as it meant all the experience I was obtaining was all the more relevant to what I wanted to pursue”.

“Integrating into the classroom was very smooth, the main teacher would often provide me with opportunities to take charge of the class such as creating brief Powerpoint or reading the text, and other miscellaneous acts of management”.

“Many opportunities to exercise direct teaching skills such as reading the work of students and providing feedback was given and very readily encouraged”.

“The main teacher would provide feedback on how I was performing, ways to improve and general support, and this was consistent within every class I was in. This was very effective and helps progress your skills the most”.

“The school was very flexible with times, e.g. how much time per week you want to be present within the classroom and what day, allowing you to get into teaching at your own pace”.

“Working with the teachers to improve my development was great, everyone was so supportive and encouraging, and gave their time to try and help with whatever questions I had”.

“What I enjoyed the most about Seven Kings was that you are such a friendly, welcoming team and I always felt at home in the staff room/I never felt like an ‘outsider’. I really liked the structured PCM sessions too, they were really helpful (i.e. being shown how to use Google Classroom, the session on behaviour management). I always felt supported by the department and there were lots of opportunities to observe different subjects and year groups, etc”.

“I loved it. It was just too short. I always felt supported, people were always available to discuss ideas, concerns, students were great”.
