Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to the primary campus of Seven Kings School. We are extremely proud to provide the foundations of our young people’s journey through their education and personal growth within this outstanding all-through school.
The school motto, ‘Friendship Excellence Opportunity’, underpins everything that we do. Early friendships start here, ensuring the children feel happy, safe and secure. The excellent relationships built from the very beginning enable them to confidently face new challenges, take risks and solve problems with a growing resilience.
Seven Kings School’s relentless pursuit of excellence is reflected throughout our harmonious community of learners; not just our eager young children but also our staff who thrive on continual professional development, our parents with whom we work hard to work in partnership and our wider community, which offers a rich diversity of experience.
The four-form entry primary campus opened in 2015 and is now full of happy, confident, well-mannered and well-behaved children who are keen to learn and to collaborate with others, from their peers to older students and their seniors. We endeavour to nurture them into becoming caring, responsible citizens of the future. We are a reflective school and listen carefully to children’s views to ensure their learning is not just relevant and engaging but makes effective links to allow deeper connections and more memorable thinking.
Our primary curriculum is under constant review, looking ahead to make changes as the local, national and global events challenge us to further prepare our children to become aspirational young people who thrive in their own community and beyond. We feel passionately about the importance of reading for pleasure for both children and adults, which becomes clear as you walk around the school. Reading independently, as well as hearing texts read aloud, is the gateway to broadening a child’s imagination, attitudes, behaviours and dreams. The primary children absolutely love it when the Sixth form Reading Champions meet with them to share and talk about books, providing excellent role models as well as charming companionship. In mathematics, we have a heavy focus on a deep understanding of number; we want children to share a love of maths and there is a buzz about learning number facts and achieving certificates for their ‘Times Tables Passports’. By using mistakes as learning opportunities and encouraging deeper thinking, children learn to reason in different ways, developing their oracy skills in order to present and solve problems across the curriculum. Our drive to develop learners who have the ambition to be able do more and know more in order to achieve more is already developing independent, interested learners who enjoy taking a pride in their work, for example, to ‘wear the crown’ for presentation.
As a growing school, we strive to provide an outstanding education for all driven by an engaging, personalised curriculum with exciting opportunities for enrichment, regardless of a child’s physical or learning needs. The primary and secondary campuses are on separate sites but with close links, enabling a collaborative culture for both staff, pupils and curriculum development. We are currently developing a cohesive and meaningful all-through curriculum, from Reception upwards, and blending curriculum skills and knowledge from Upper Key Stage 2 with those at Key Stage 3. As an all-through school, our children benefit from specialist subject teaching, for example, in art, computing, foreign languages and P.E, equipping them with the skills and confidence for their seamless transition across the road to their secondary education where they can continue through all the way to the Sixth Form.
Seven Kings School is a vibrant and fulfilling place to be with excellent opportunities for personal and professional development. Being an Alliance enables our teachers and children to work across schools to share ideas and learn from each other. Our Redbridge Schools Partnership Group further promotes this with us providing and accessing support for and from other schools too. Being an all-through school presents unique and exciting opportunities for our teaching staff to grow professionally but, equally, it supports children in developing secure roots through collaborative learning and friendships needed to flourish into responsible, confident, caring adults of the future.
We welcome your visits to our school for both school place and staffing applications where we hope you will see how we share a clear moral purpose and commitment to the wellbeing of our amazing children and to an inclusive, high quality education of all.
